Nigel Clayton is the best business coach there is, period.
I just did a new website for him that tries to capture the essence of who he is, what he does, and, most importantly, how it helps.

The homepage has actually changed, since this screenshot, as has the name of the company! http://www.coachingea.com. But, my philosophy is as few calls to action as possible. And, I think the site does shout out the benefits, loud and clear!
The reason I’m using the image is because we’re using SquareSpace.com to host this site and I don’t want to deal with sIFR or CSS minutiae. And, it’s not an SEO driven business, so it’s not that relevant, IMHO.

Actually, it was effective enough to get me to sign-up for the newsletter. Part of the reason I was willing to sign-up was the understated aspect of the site made Mr. Clayton appear more authentic than all the hard-sell coaching sites I’ve seen. It looks top-quality with an actually *good* (nay, Great) headshot instead of those awful Sear’s photo studio-esque photos usually seen, the site style is high-concept without being bleeding edge and the content is sufficient and on target without being too aggressive. In all, this site makes Mr. Clayton look successful, caring and knowledgeable about his business without being an egomaniac. All the things I’d want in a professional coach!
Excellent job, Mr. Pearlman!

Hey there!
Took a look at the site … but surprised to see few calls to action on the homepage …. and that the homepage doesn’t come right out and shout out the benefits of Nigel’s services to site visitors ….? I know how much you’re a proponent of telling people the benefits of a company’s services, not just a list of what they are…
Also curious as to why the decision was made to have the homepage be a (inaccessible, longer-loading) huge image instead of indexable, actual html text??
